I had an amazing experience with a contractor. Yes, a contractor. A Landscaping Contractor. He ....
(1) Was on time
(2) Was on budget
(3) His team was there through the whole period and finished the job as promised, they also were polite
(4) They cleaned up every evening
(5) He personally came out with my Wife and I to pick the driveway stone, the patio flagstone and help us choose items that would make our house "special" in the neighbourhood
(6) He went out and helped us pick the shrubs and flowers
(7) He arranged for the building of a new fence, through a sub-contracting basis ... this gentleman also did an excellent job.
Through the whole period, my Wife and I were not only allowed, but, convinced to make our own changes and touches to personalize the job.
